Bling Bling!

This year will have been eight wonderful years since Justin and I have been together and five years since we've been married. So what better way for a husband to show his love for his wife and the mother of his child then by buying her something shinny? Well, Justin did just that. I now am the proud owner and wearer of a new diamond ring that symbolized my marriage to my wonderful husband and father to my baby girl! I picked it up yesterday! And now I can't stop staring.

A Busy Day

Well, yesterday started off as usual, but ended up eventful. The first thing that I saw when I came home was a nearly completed fence. The guys where just putting the finishing touches on when I pulled up. Although they will be back on Friday or Saturday to stain it, it's done! We are super pleased. They did a great job!

It's About Time

Well, it's hard to believe that we've been in our house for almost four years now. So it's about time we put in a real fence! We where supposed to get one two years ago, but we decided on a boat instead. You know where our priorities are. That's okay. We are okay with it.... So we have hired a company out of Ellensburg. They actually started this last Tuesday and will finish this next week. I'll post pictures soon. There isn't much to see now. Just a few posts... But it's exciting. No more chicken-wire!!!! We are moving up in this world one bord at a time.

An Easy Going Weekend

This weekend was easy going and laid back. Justin worked Friday night and all day Saturday. That is not to say that Kenzie and I where home-bodies. We whent into town to run a few errands and then came home to have lunch and meet Chelsea. Chelsea came to our house to get ready for prom. Yes it's that time of year even if the weather doesn't think so. I attempted to do her hair as I have in years past, but this time, I had to call on my friend Joe. Joe did an amazing job! And Chelsea was beautiful and happy as she should be. Her boyfriend, Matt, came and wisked her away for a fun night of dancing and food.

Today has been fairly uneventful as well. I had an eye exam and ordered some new glasses. Yay! Then we took a trip to Ellensberg to talk to a guy about a fence. They start on our new fence in a week! Maybe now we can take down the silly chicken wire....

When we got home, we found Zeke in the only patch of sun he could find. And Mack zonked out on the couch.

Yuck!

I don't know what happened to our beautiful, but brief weather, but I want it back. Today started out sunny then has ended up to be a terribly windy and overcast day. It was so bad that I'm pretty sure that if I unpinned one of the umbrella's at work that I could fly away Mary Poppins's style across the parking lot. Don't get me wrong. It sounds fun and gives a great visual, but I'm pretty sure it would hurt. Bad.

Does Anyone Smell Rotten Eggs?

Yesterday was pretty uneventful with the exception of an ominous smell. Later in the morning I was walking up the stairs when it hit me. That dreadful smell of mercapten. You might know the smell in association with natural gas. Mercapten is the chemical added to make the detection of natural gas easier. Well, as it turns out, we didn't have a leak. Thank goodness. But a little later in the day while Justin was washing and waxing the Jeep, the neighbor from across the street came to ask of Justin a favor. She too smelled the unfavorable odor and wanted someone else to check it out. Justin obliged and this time he decided it would be in her best interest to call the fire department so they could use a more accurate detection system. They came. They detected. Then we all waited to hear what the gas company had to say. We found out that there was a new guy at the gas company who had, by mistake, placed double the dose of mercapten normally used. Hence the smell. They had a guy in the area already due to this very reason. It didn't take long for the man to arrive to check for himself. And it was lucky that our neighbor called, because she actually did have a leak. Poor girl. Thankfully she had the smarts to get a second opinion. Who knows what would have happened? Thanks smelly egg smell!

Sunny Days

Today we thought that we would take advantage of the seventy-something weather and head to the park. We had a blast and got a little dizzy watching Mackenzie run up the stairs and go down the slide. At least she had an outlet for all that energy! (She took an amazing nap!)

Even Justin and I got to have a little fun taking turns on the slide with Kenzie.

And Justin even learned a valuable lesson about the direction in which you are supposed to go down slides. (He ended up with a nice friction burn.)

It's all just in a day's worth of play!!
