The picture doesn't quite do the situation justice, but it's all we got. There are actual peanut sized globs of Vick's on her face. And if you look at her shirt, you'll see that it is completely saturated. Good job Kenzie. If you are going to do something, you might as well do it all the way. At least she smelled nice for a while.

A Slippery Situation
Some of you may remember a little story that I told about Mackenzie and a little experience with Vick's Vapor Rub. Well, the story goes......
Kenzie was upstairs in her room supposedly finishing a nap when I hear her call for me. "Mom! Mom. Where are you?" So I quickly run upstairs to get her from her room. As I reach the top of the stairs I hear her yelling something that I can't quite understand. Curious, I quicken my pace and get to her room. As I open her door, I suddenly realize what she had just yelled as she repeated herself. "Mom I got Vick's!" There she is. Standing on her bead. Covered in globs of Vick's rub. It's in her hair. All over her face and chest. She even managed to remember that her legs where partially exposed and that too was covered in the Vaseline like rub. You can imagine what was going through my mind at this verry instant. How was I ever going to get her clean? Well, it took about a week and a half of bathing a few times a day to completely get the stuff out. Let's just say that we have moved the Vick's to a safer location.

Last Weekend
So last Saturday it was 97 degrees here, and I not having air conditioning in my Jeep couldn't stand it any longer. The top HAD to come off. We were planning on going to Selah community days that day and Tiffany had a little running to do so I prepped the top for removal while she was away. As soon as she got home, with a few twitches of my nose and a change of Tiff's jeans the top was off. Ah to feel the open air on my face again. It also seems, just like the boat, it tends to put Mackenzie to sleep.

The next day, around 9 in morning Mackenzie began to fall asleep on my lap. This posed a problem because her normal nap time is 12. If she sleeps this early her schedule gets off and she becomes super grouch later in the day. So I, not wanting super fussy kid, began bugging her and tickling her to try and wake her up. Well i guess she didn't like that. She gave me a quick slap across the face and found a spot she could sleep uninterrupted.

The Saga
The saga continues. So I got the horrible screeching sound on my Tahoe fixed on Monday. It was a simple and cheap fix thankfully. It was the U-joint, which, like I said, is simple to fix but if I had let it go it would not have been. But what's done is done. While the Tahoe was in the shop getting checked out, they also found a few other small repairs. Imagine that. So for now, we are safe, which is what counts.

The Curse
So there is this terrable squeeling sound comming from my car and we don't know where the sound is originating from. Sad, I know. We take it in on monday to see what we can figure out. Keep your fingers crossed that it is something simple and small and will only cost me some headache. Why, oh why do these things happen to me? Why?
Fancy Fence
It's all done! The fence, it's all done! The guys from Ellensburg Fence Co. came and stained the wood on Monday. It's sooooo pretty.... Not only did we get the fence, but we cleaned off the back patio. Wow, we got a lot accomplished. We also bought a set of wood chairs to go on the side of the house where I've been planning a peaceful area complete with gardens and water features. I'm super excited.
Having the fence up has also given Zeke that much more room to play. And Mackenzie thinks that the whole back yard is "Zekie's house" because now the yard is surrounded by wood like what Zeke's house was. I say was because Justin took it down. Zeke hated it anyway, and it was just taking up space.
So all is good in the world. It's sunny and warm and life is great.
